Small business too small

Law Technology Daily Digest

Vol. 18, No. 321

I have to admit, I don’t know much details about LexTech, a “sister company to Dublin’s Leman Solicitors.” But seeing this makes me think of one of the biggest issues we have in the legal vendor market space – small vendors. If I were to generalize, too many players are small – too small. Too many firms invest critical systems or services in companies that are border line able to support them. They have trouble keeping up with system and integrated applications updates and that was before we started accelerating and running at the speed of the cloud. I’ve stopped doing business with companies that are too small. The risk isn’t worth it. A law firm doing software development as a side business to others just makes no sense to me.
