When It Happens to You

The debate over guns and violence is once again raging in America, especially when it comes to our schools and institutions or learning. What do you do when it happens to you? How does that color your thinking and how do you ready yourself for the unimaginable in the future? Christine Anne George tackles this thorny issue and speaks from experience in her latest post. She writes, “When one considers dangerous lines of work, librarianship doesn’t make the list . . . But now active shooter trainings are a part of library life, just like fire drills.” Christine poignantly and pointedly asks us: How Do You Prepare For This? It’s a question most of us never thought we’d ever even have to consider, let alone answer.
